This Saturday - September 17 - there will be a free recital on the St. Andrew's pipe organ at 2pm by music director Greg Walshaw. The recital will last about an hour. There should be plenty of free 2hr parking available around the church and Victoria Park. #Brantford #Music

Join us on Saturday, September 17 at 2pm at St. Andrew's United Church on Darling St in @downtownbrantfd for a free recital on our spectacular pipe organ by music director Gregory Walshaw.

For our last Sunday before a summer break, we have preludes by Graupner and Pachelbel, and a postlude by Carl Czerny. Remaining summer services are at Sydenham-Heritage (July 24, 31, and Aug 7), Harmony (Aug 14 and 21), and Fairview United (Aug 28 and Sept 4).

This week's music is mostly from the Renaissance era, with organ pieces from Girolamo Frescobaldi, Orlando Gibbons, William Byrd, and Andrea Gabrieli. Anthem is Call to Remembrance by. Richard Farrant

The organ music this week is all by Johan Sebastian Bach. The postlude, as always for the last Sunday in June at St. Andrew's, is the Toccata and Fugue in D Minor. Join us in-person or online.

Almost all of this week's music is by Healey Willan. Willan was born and began his career in England. He moved to Canada in 1913 at the age of 33 to take up the position of organist and choir master of St. Paul's, Bloor St., Toronto, before moving to St. Mary Magdalene in 1921.

Music for Trinity Sunday (June 12) includes Tchaikovsky's Hymn to the Trinity as the anthem, and, on the organ, Dawn Hymn by Alan Hovaness and the Voluntary in C Minor by Samuel Wesley.

The music at St. Andrew's this week features Theodore Dubois, C.H. Parry, W.H. Harris, and Harold Darke. The anthem is Come Down, O Love Divine by Harris. The postlude is the Prelude and Fugue by Dubois.

This week at St. Andrew's, we will have organ music by 20th century French composer Jean Langlais, and choral music (introit and anthem) by our music director Gregory Walshaw.

Organ music this week at St. Andrew's features the English voluntary, with pieces by William Croft, William Walond, John Bennett, and James Hook. Anthem is "It Is A Good Thing" by James Kent.

Organ music this week by Herbert Howells, William H. Harris, and William Mathias. the in-person congregation can hear Master Tallis' Testament by Howells. The prelude in the broadcast, also Howells, is from a collection of manuscripts that were unpublished during his lifetime.

On Easter Sunday we will be joined by trumpeter Kevin Swinden. Organ music by Pachelbel, Buxtehude, Boehm, and the festival Toccata by Percy Fletcher. Join us at 10:00 online or in person.

This Friday's service at 10:00 features organ music from the German Baroque era, with music by Walther, Pachelbel, Buxtehude, and J.S. Bach. Join us in person a few minutes before 10:00 to hear Bach's exquisite chorale prelude O Mensch Bewein.
