@KelleighDahl @CatholicCharm First, go directly to the parish and pastor and explain the situation and how this turns away the faithful Then if they do not update it, it is acceptable to bring it before the whole church- that is what St Paul tells us. I used name and shame which is harsh, but it needs fixed

If the Catholic Church wants you to baptize your baby then parishes should probably be more welcoming to those babies. Filling out a baptism form and this is so rude 💀 we don’t have to take a class bc this isn’t our first rodeo but what do they expect first-time parents to do if they can’t bring their baby along with them especially if the child is still young and breast-fed? Absolutely crazy to me

To anyone telling Pope Leo to stop being political Pope Pius VII told Napoleon to quit invading and he was arrested and held from Rome until Napoleon fell. Was he a modernist lib too?

When Benedict XVI gave his Regensburg Lecture on Faith & Reason, there was a mild throwaway line from a Byzantine about Islam. A sister was gunned down in Somalia, 7 churches burned in the Middle East & it set off protests. I can guarantee you the successive popes know this.
Nicholas@nickycantaloupe

Yeah man I hate when the pope speaks nicely to Muslims, I would much prefer he say mean things to them, which would instantly start a Holy War in which millions of Christians needlessly die and absolutely no Muslims convert to the Faith. But hey at least it would feel based!

For the love of goodness sakes, are people really this delusional? And how in the world would the Promotor of Justice in the Vatian's civil court have any autority over the validity of a Papal resignation?? @jdflynn @canonlawyered please tell me this is fake...

@MGF2025 @catholicpat I had 7 monks as teachers. And they taught me to try and live according to the Gospel. I feel guilty sometimes but it’s because they taught me well and it makes me a better Christian.

I'm a cradle Catholic and Irish I never experienced crushing "Catholic guilt" like the lapsed cradle Catholics talk about I did have one mean nun teacher, but she mellowed with age and we're cool now. (also I probably deserved to be yelled at tbh)

@ChristopherHale @MehekCooke Chris she may be referring to the Roman Catechism which includes a section on war in the sections referencing the commandments. It doesn’t have the modern points though. But there are Catechisms from before the modern version.

As a Catholic, I know exactly what just war doctrine teaches. It is not one-sided. So when the Pope called Trump’s Iran stance “unacceptable” and the war “madness,” Trump was right to speak up. Iran fears strengths not sermons.

@kenmartin73 I call on the Democrats to listen to the Pope too instead of using him as a political tool. End abortion. End euthanasia. If you actually thought well of him you would listen to your supposed Catholic faith and obey the Church’s teachings.

Pope Leo XIV represents everything that President Trump is not—an overwhelmingly popular, humble, gracious, and kind leader who is devoted to serving God and others without fear or favor. As Catholics, we are taught that all of us are created in the image of God. We are instructed to strive for peace and to recognize the dignity of all people. The idea that Donald Trump would instead choose to lash out at the pope, claim credit for his elevation, and call him ‘weak,’ is both offensive and morally repugnant. Pope Leo continues to lead by example, reaffirming that he is not afraid of the Trump administration and will continue to speak out about the values found in Scripture. I call on all Republicans to condemn Trump’s divisive words and hateful actions.

@StAndyWouters That would be a much better and more reasonable argument yes. I would not go with "hey the pope fought wars sometimes too" as a good point for the papacy being anti war

@StAndyWouters Thou shalt not bear false witness: The pope has ha long history of calling for open borders, and that anything less is “racism”. And like it or not, countries are governed by laws in this day and age, not Jesus.

@WeBecomeTheIce Okay so should I just pick one of the literally hundreds of other examples of Popes and heads of state clashing? My point is that the Pope isn’t a tourist attraction. He is the head of the Church and Popes have battled with Kings and leaders for a thousand years+

@StAndyWouters I have to say it's a pretty terrible argument however. The pope was involved in your example because Napoleon invaded Rome and attempted to setup a revolutionary state there. This brought the Pope and Napoleon into direct military conflict. The situation just isn't comparable

@liquidforcesolo There is no L to take chief The Pope literally said that no one is calling on the US to have open borders. But if you see someone you shouldn’t toss them in a cage immediately before giving them help - sounds kind of like what Jesus would do huh?

@IoannesRomanus @exRhenum @GreetingsPaulYT Don’t listen to these Sede’s. Either Pope Leo is the Pope or the gates of Hell have prevailed. There is no sensible, logical, or realistic argument as to why the line of Popes has not continued. In fact and in appearance he is the Pope.
