Two years ago today we welcomed our Rector Ollie to our Benefice. On this anniversary we want to say a big thank you to him for his ministry among us. We wish him a very happy new year!

Happy Ascension Day! Service at the Old Church at 6pm today. All most welcome.

Thursday is Ascension Day! Service in the Old Church to celebrate this great feast at 6pm. All welcome up the hill! Car parking at Tofts (by the right turn off North Bank) from where it’s a short walk on (hopefully) a lovely spring evening.

Sunday 10 May The Parish Eucharist - with Storybook Church for children - is at 1100. Refreshments in church after the service. Everyone is invited.

As it’s wet today, we shall begin the service in church.

The Palm Sunday service begins at 1100 at the War Memorial, from where we shall process into church. We look forward to joining with our friends from the Methodist Church as we mark the beginning of Holy Week.

Please note that there will be NO SERVICE in St Cuthbert’s Haydon Bridge on Sunday 22 March. Instead, there will be a Benefice Service at St John Lee Church, beginning at 10.00. However, Storybook Church at Teatime will take place at 3.30 as usual.

Happy St Cuthbert’s Day! Our village church is dedicated to this beloved saint who was first Prior, then Bishop, of Lindisfarne from 685. (In between, he was Bishop of Hexham for a few months during the year 685.) he died #onthisday in 687.

Today is the feast day of our Patron Saint, St Cuthbert. Durham Cathedral exists as the final resting place of one of the North’s greatest saints: the man who lived a humble and prayerful life and who inspired many to follow in the footsteps of Christ.
