We are so grateful to our friends at @pursuit_lending for transforming the bedrooms at Hubbard House, a group home in our Residential Program! ❤️ The children were thrilled to find new bedding, rugs, wall art, lights, storage organizers, and more when they got back from their outing! Most importantly, each room was made over with the child’s current interests in mind, making their space away from home feel more personalized and special. Children in our Residential program have a history of trauma and emotional or behavioral challenges, and are accepted in the program based on their need for intensive, therapeutic treatment in a residential setting. This Women's History Month we’re spotlighting Kelly Kirnon, who has been with us for 32 years! 🎉 Kelly started as a childcare staff, and throughout the years worked as a medical transporter, an overnight resident assistant, and an assistant supervisor. Now, as Program Manager for Residential Services, Kelly oversees and supervises two group homes in our Residential program, where she supports staff, ensures compliance with agency policies, and creates a therapeutic environment for children who have been removed from their home. See below for advice Kelly would give to others entering into her field! #WomensHistoryMonth #WomenInHistory #HerStory #HopeForTomorrow

She’s been with us for 20 years! 🎉 Sarah started as a critical care aide, and then moved into a TA position. In 2007, she transitioned to a Student Services Position, allowing her to work on a level that focused on NYSED regulations around data, testing, and transportation. Now with years of knowledge and skills, she’s responsible for students’ Individualized Education Program (IEP) being implemented correctly, oversees data monitoring, and ensures compliance with NYS testing and other NYS education department regulations. We’re back with this month’s historical highlight, to not only celebrate St. Catherine’s turning 140 this year, but to also showcase the remarkable women who dedicated their lives to the children at St. Catherine’s for Women’s History Month! After New York State had purchased the historic Schuyler Mansion, the program for the young orphaned children, run by the Daughters of Charity, moved to its current location at 40 North Main Avenue in 1914. This building was then a new facility, built through the generosity of local philanthropist Anthony N. Brady, leading to the agency eventually becoming known as the Anthony N. Brady Maternity Hospital and Infant Home. This photo was taken at the Infant Home with Sister Carmel and a group of children around 1928. Note the license plate with Al Smith when he was governor of New York and ran for president. #WomensHistory #WomensHistoryMonth #NonProfit #BradyHospital #HopeForTomorrow

We are sending a huge thank you to the Junior League of Albany for completing bedroom makeovers for the children at Byron House, a group home in our Residential program! ❤️ Each bedroom was catered to the child’s interests, equipped with new bedding, wall hangings, lights, rugs, and more, making their home away from home feel a little bit cozier. When the children came home from their outing they were absolutely ecstatic! Children in our Residential program have a history of trauma and emotional or behavioral challenges, and are accepted in the program based on their need for intensive, therapeutic treatment in a residential setting.
