Wouldn't it be great if every church planted a garden to attract and offer habitat for pollinators?
This beauty is from @StColsDerry

@nct_nina Thank you very much Nina. We were delighted at the beautiful display our wildflower garden provided this year, and it is our little contribution to the environment. We plan to replant again next year.

@Gingerarse @StColsDerry It was @StColsDerry who took the modern photo. I'm sure they wouldn't mind you sharing it around if you provide acknowledgement, but it's their call.

I recently tweeted a photo of Derry taken ~1880 from St. Columb's Cathedral tower and thought it'd be interesting to see how today's skyline compares, so I asked @StColsDerry if they could help. Sure enough, they've produced a modern version of the photo taken from the same spot.

@ConstuctD @DanielCollins85 Brilliant, thank you for this. My main memory of the old Academy is, as young kids, standing at the top of Northland Parade at night telling stories of how the old headmaster would walk past the windows in the school with no head. We scared ourselves witless.

@ConstuctD @DanielCollins85 We learn something new every day! All these years I thought the old building on the Academy Road was the old Foyle College preceding the one on Lawrence Hill. Not sure where I got that from but I passed it on the way to the Model School in 50s early 60s. Very enlightening.

@DanielCollins85 @ConstuctD The old Foyle College building was on that site and I think it was demolished in the late 60s. I was brought up in Northland Parade in the 50s and I remember it well

@ConstuctD @StColsDerry The building I was wondering about looks to be located where the Magee campus is today. What you reckon? 🤔

@ConstuctD I see that website mentions the academy was replaced by an old people's home in 1970. I assume that is what's known as the Foyleville day-care centre and residential home today. Any idea what this building might be? It's another prominent one, but I can't make out where it is.🤔
