On Friday we said goodbye to two of our wonderful members of staff. Mrs Hickson, our amazing Year 1 teacher and SENCO is leaving St Hilda’s to take up a new position as a Deputy Headteacher and Mr Ward is retiring. We wish the.m both all the best for the future.

Year 6, we will miss your smiles and hearing your laughter around school but we know you are ready for your next adventure. Good luck. Dream big, be brave and shine brightly. We are so proud of each and every one of you.

Year 1 have visited different art stations this morning to create some Kandinsky inspired art! They’ve used paint, pastels, crayon and even collage to create masterpieces!

Year 6 had a lovely day at the beach yesterday. The sun shone and fantastic memories were made. ☀️🍦

#Year1 We have been working on #time. In #maths. We have been thinking about minutes and seconds. We completed different challenges, estimated how long it would take and then recorded it.

Year 5 have been learning to play the violin with @burymusic this year. Today they put on a beautiful showcase for their parents.

#Year1 As part of our #Geography topic we made chatter boxes and included facts about our most recent topic. Then we tested Year 4 and shared our facts!

Yesterday, Year 6 performed their play ‘Grossbusters’ for their parents. Sensational! Amazing! Talented! Monstrously funny! Just some of the comments they received. We are very proud of them. 😃🎵🎶👏

In art today, Year 1 learnt all about the abstract artist Wassily Kandinsky. They created fact files in their sketchbooks, used objects to print with and used Chrome Music Lab on the iPads to create some of their own abstract art. Their artwork came to life with music too!

#Year1 We have been thinking about ordinal numbers. We explored different stories and then made our own up using the correct vocabulary.

In English today, Year 2 stepped into the shoes of a person waiting in the queue from our class book My Name Is Not Refugee. Through drama and role play, they imagined how their character might feel, what they might be thinking, and what they would say.

In our English lesson this week, Year 2 have been playing dots and boxes. They then wrote super instructions for the character in our book.
