One year qualified (nearly!) I’ve learned so much this past year. I realised ward working wasn’t working for me and have switched to community which does 🩷

After a very up and down few months with self confidence, there really is nothing better than your patient calling for you right at the end of your night shift, purely to tell you they think your an amazing nurse 🩷

@StNShann Don’t go straight to bed once home, have some breakfast, sort meal out for work, uniforms etc and have a shower then go to bed about 10/10.30. Sleep mask, black out curtains/blinds and ear pods if possible

What is everyone’s best nightshift tips? Particularly surrounding getting a good sleep afterwards. I slept fine as a student on nights but as a qualified nurse with more responsibilities not so much. Please help a gal out 🙏🏻

There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing your patient vastly improve from NEWS of over 10 when admitted to a mere 1 the following shift. This is why I chose this career and love nursing. Being able to support help people through their worst days is an absolute privilege

@RCNNRN Asking for help is ok, you are never ever required to know everything even as an experienced nurse. The first few months are tough and that’s ok, you may love the job some days and hate it the next even mostly hate it to begin with. You know more than you think you know

I feel like I’m finally settling into qualified life. The pre and post shift anxiety is far less and I’ve accepted not knowing everything is ok

It’s graduation day tomorrow, something I never dreamed I would ever do 🥳😅 👩‍🎓

Finishing your nursing degree and starting your newly qualified post is like passing your driving test. Your going to make mistakes, your going to feel anxious, your going to love it one day and hate it the next. It’s the best but hardest transition.

I’m really hoping the imposter syndrome and self doubt will lessen very soon. I love the good days but the bad days can be so tough too

As of yesterday I’ve been a RN for a month. That’s passed so quickly 😳

I can’t believe I’ve been a nurse for a week already 😱

I am now officially a registered mental health nurse and maybe the happiest person on this planet. I didn't think when I started this journey 4 years ago at 52 years old I could do it but with hard work, the support of my amazing sons and wonderful friends, my dream came true 💙

I am one of many many many adhd individuals who now has no access to their adhd medication due to a national shortage. I can’t lie it’s stressing me out, will have to go without once what I have runs out when your not supposed to just stop this medication

@ChloJaconherMac I honestly had no idea this was coming! I’d heard some were struggling but I didn’t realise how much and for how long!

@StNShann Absolutely know how you feel Shannon! Its awful! I have been around various pharmacy’s over last few months in preparation for the serious short fall! I have about month or so left of mine. I feel like it’s going to be a total disaster for people! I hope it gets sorted soon!
