In maths, we have been working in pairs to solve subtraction problems using Part-Whole Models.

In English, we have been looking at the example diary text and discussing what makes it a good piece of writing. 📖✍️

Today we started our new topic in RE; Desert to Garden. We listened to the scripture (Luke 4:1-13) and then used role play to retell it in our own words.

In DT, we have been looking closely at books which have moving parts. We have been looking at what parts move, what the moving parts do and how they work.

We used a double dice frame to show our understanding that 7 can be composed in different ways.

In English, we have immersed ourselves into our new story The Secret of Black Rock. We have been learning about the main character, Erin and exploring how she feels in the story. 🌊🪨📖

In Maths, we used our knowledge of doubles to explore near doubles.

In Art, we have been making our own clay tiles, inspired by the work of Huddertwasser. 🎨🖌️

In Maths, we have been recalling double numbers to 20.

In history, we have been learning about significant explorers. Today we learnt about Matthew Henson and how he explored the Arctic.

In Maths, we have been using our prior knowledge of number bonds to 10 to help us with recalling number bonds to 20. We used whiteboards to help us share our answers with our talking partners.

Yesterday, we had a visit from our Paths coach Lisa. She completed a Paths lesson with us about remembering how to calm down when situations make us feel upset or angry. We talked about how we can ‘do turtle’ to help us to self-regulate in those uncomfortable moments.

In English, we have been collecting ideas of how we can catch a witch to help Rapunzel. We used role-play to demonstrate our ideas. 🧙🧪🌳💐
