My Gracie girl asked me to do her hair like Miss O’C @StPatsY2 today, apparently this is how she does it ❤️ whatever makes the morning smoother 🙃❤️

In Maths this week, we started using non-standard units when measuring objects in our classroom. We then progressed to looking at a metre stick, then onto estimating and comparing lengths of objects! @st_patricks

Some questions to ask your child tonight 🤔 How did you know the polymorph was malleable? How did you know it had set? What did the polymorph need to become malleable?

What an AMAZING science lesson we’ve just had!! We put thermos plastic beads into hot water which made them malleable. Then we moulded them into a shape and made our very own key rings 🤩 So much wonderful learning happening! @st_patricks 🥼💚👏🏼

Then to end our amazing visit, we got to see where the alerts come through about fires. We are so lucky to have amazing fire fighters ready at a moment’s notice to help us! 🧯🚨

We have had the BEST surprise this morning! We went to Toxteth Community Fire Station to see how well we can fight fires now, compared to back in 1666 when the Great Fire of London happened! @st_patricks see thread for some excited faces 😁💚👏🏼👩🏼‍🚒

To start our #RecyclingWeek yesterday, we made posters for our Scrap Paper Recycling Box. Today we looked at how trees are used to make our paper. They are so important for providing us with oxygen. We even made a poster on a whiteboard to not waste paper! ♻️🌎 @st_patricks

We have also been practicing techniques to make polka dots using a range of media! Can your child tell you which technique was best? 🎨😁 @st_patricks

In Art this half term, we are looking at the work of Yayoi Kusama! Mrs Jones has amazingly made a mini-replica of one of her installations ‘The Obliteration Room’ @st_patricks

We have loved our Science topic so far! 🥼🔬🤩 This week, we have been looking at the properties of solids, liquids and gases and how to classify them! Can your child tell you whether sand is a solid or liquid and why? @st_patricks

Say hello to our Y2 School Councillors 🤩👏🏼 out of a huge 18 applicants (!!!), these two lovely girls were voted for by their classmates. I’m sure they’ll be amazing at representing our class! @st_patricks
