Isn’t it interesting that the Roman Catholic, Oriental Orthodox, and Protestant influencers all love sing kumbaya together while trashing the Orthodox Church. It’s almost like we’re the true Church or something.

Protestants are making a nothingburger out of a minimal fee many Greek Churches have because baptisms are usually large celebrations, not empty “symbols.” This covers baptismal robe, candles, perhaps icons, and the celebration feast after. Many churches simply ask for a donation. This is nothing, btw, compared to most fundie churches which demand 10% tithe whereas most orthodox churches leave it all voluntary. This is just more ignorant moral gotchas because they have no intellectual arguments for their sects.

Trads are just puritans at this point.

We confess One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic Church. That means it’s not evangelical or Protestant or ecumenist. This icon portrays the fathers at the councils of the first millennium. There’s no evangelicalism or Lutheranism or Calvinism to be seen: only Orthodox Catholics.
