An article published on April 7 mistakenly claimed that the Clapham chemical attacker Abdul Ezedi had been supported by the Church of England, and that this enabled him to 'beat the system'. We accept that Mr Ezedi is not known to have had any connections with the Church of England and apologise for the error.

Times are changing in the Church of England. We will, I pray, see marriage opened up in our churches. Queer people will be embraced as full, holy members of the Body of Christ. Our gifts will be recognised. And people will be startled that it was ever any other way. Praise God.

It appears clear that some bishops see this period as remaining part of the ‘necessity of silence’ as relates to LGBTQI people. That is disappointing but there we go. It’s absolutely clear that this silence will, soon, have to end. 1/2
