All here at St Stephen's are hugely saddened by the passing of Benjamin, in particular the children in Y6 Zephaniah. Studying this inspirational writer's work has opened eyes & hearts, he will be greatly missed. We will continue his legacy; our thoughts are with his family. RIP

Big thanks to Dr Marl'ene from @GoldsmithsUoL who delivered a brilliant Caribbean Creoles Workshop to Y6. After finding out how the language(s) evolved & exploring the geography, they learned the numbers to & she read an Anansi story too.

It's Hispanic Day - a day learning about the history, geography and cultures of Spanish speaking countries. Each year group will explore an iconic festival from their country, which include La Tomatina from Spain & Bolivia's Tinku Festival!!!

As a whole school, we joined the Great Big Live Assembly, celebrating the much overlooked, yet huge contributions of Black women.

Y2 pupils enjoyed an amazing trip to @StPaulsLondon climbing 300+ steps to reach the famous Whispering Gallery. They learned that the cathedral has been rebuilt 5 times over the centuries & linked to learning about the Great Fire of London.

The Prayer Group began Collective Worship this morning speaking about John 4:13-14 - No Water, No Life. The children then listened to Waterfall by Chris Tomlin bit.ly/3XWMZtG learning to sing it by the end of the day. Every child wrote a prayer on a raindrop for display.

CHAMPIONS! After a fiercely contested match, our Girls' @LBHF Mayor's Cup team were level 1-1 at full time. With no goals aet, they faced the dreaded pens... Viva slotted home the first, then Loly saved theirs. Annie knocked in the second & POTM Loly made the dream come true.

Y5 called in the London Fire Brigade today to explain a little about what they do. The children learned about all of the prevention work that the #LFB do and how they can play their part... "Mums & Dads, don't leave your phones on charge overnight, it could be dangerous."

Ten of our very best Y4 chess players joined 300 others from all over the UK to enjoy a day of #Chess fun with a tournament, simul & lessons at #ChessFest. They have learned lots over the year from organisers @schoolschess and our own Miss Cummins too, bringing home three medals!

As part of the Mudlarks project the children have borrowed and installed a camera in the hope of capturing some images of the night time wildlife that inhabits the middle playground. Any guesses @ChrisGPackham, who will be our first visitor?

Have you got your tickets yet to The Greatest Showman? Mr Schumm's end of year performance opens tomorrow at 6.30pm, with a 9.30am morning matinee on Wednesday, before two more evening shows. It's rehearsals all the way, this afternoon, with the band who were warming up just now.
