The Europa League final is the only UEFA final that happens before the end of the season. It’s in the midweek before the final day of the PL season. If Villa win the Europa League and are ahead of 5th place by 3 points or less then the race for the final Champions League place will be nuts on the final day. 6th place gets UCL if Villa win the UEL and come 5th in the PL. Villa play City away on the final day.

So Chelsea basically need Villa to drop to 5th and win the Europa League for 6th place to get UCL next season.
