Just walked out of a House Armed Services briefing on Iran. Let me repeat: I will not support troops on the ground in Iran, even more so after this briefing.

“People are looking at what’s going on at the airports, we’re all concerned about the possibility of something very bad happening, and we don’t want to see Homeland Security not in the game,” Suozzi said. “At the same time, we want to see reform of some of the really inappropriate — I say immoral and illegal — behavior of ICE.” wapo.st/3PGuXf5

@it_unprofession I asked my husband late of corporate employment what synergy optimization was. He said complete bs. I ask why use the phrase. He said so the morons can be buzzword compliant !

We hired a consulting firm to tell us why our profits are down. They sent three 24-year-olds wearing vests. They spent two months interviewing us about our own jobs. Then they put our answers into a PowerPoint presentation. They charged us $250K for this privilege. During the final readout, one of them used the phrase synergy optimization without blinking. I looked around the conference room. Our CEO was nodding like he just received the Ten Commandments. The grand conclusion was that we need to increase revenue and decrease costs. I could've told them that for a gift card to Panera. But nobody listens to the guy who works here. You only listen to the guy who flies in on a Tuesday. I'm updating my resume to include synergy optimization. It feels like the right move.

There's a woman in Michigan who has been stalking and harassing me for over 5 years. She has been threatening my employers, getting me fired, and now she is harassing my family members too. I have her phone number now. 5 years ago in 2021 she contacted the church where I worked and told them she would go to the authorities and news agencies because they were employing someone who was writing "anti-vax" songs criticizing covid lockdowns and mandates. The church brought me into a struggle session and demanded I take down the videos. I declined and they fired me one week later for being unvaccinated. After 3 years of lockdowns I got a new job working at UC Santa Cruz...then I was abruptly let go because she contacted them and complained about my songs, again. Then I got a new job as musical director for a local theater company. After doing an incredible job for a year, she contacted them AGAIN and the board fired me. They admitted that my work had been exceptional, but they caved because of the single complaint. They also admitted the person complaining was from Michigan. A few months ago she contacted a new theater I've been working at recently. They reached out to me and admitted the complainer was from out of state, and that everyone locally loved my work. I haven't been rehired since. This week this woman has been spamming my family members with messages complaining about me and telling them to cut ties with me. She also told them she is pro-actively contacting all local venues in my area to tell them not to hire me. So. This has GOT to be illegal right? I should contact a lawyer right? I need a restraining order or something because this is actually insane.

Someone with a Michigan area code is harassing my family members about my videos and contacting all of my employers to get me fired and blacklisted. Imagine being that obsessed and psychotic.

I was in a nice restaurant in Paris and my 9 month old baby girl started crying. An older woman, the owner, power walked up to me with her arms stretched out, speaking French, and grabbed my baby and held her against her cheek. So sweet, in broken english, she demanded I sit down and enjoy my meal and that she would take care of her new little princess. They both looked so happy after a few minutes of pacing, and I swear the chef prepared a comically large, full chicken and mashed potatoes for my bay girl of which she had half of all over her face within minutes. This was not the only time on my trip that an older woman stopped what she was doing to help us. I walked into a bar, midday, asking to use their bathroom changing table. They laughed and said that was not a thing in Paris. They moved everything off of the bar and insisted I change her diaper right there. Gross right? Nobody in the bar was phased!! They looked happy to be helpful! It was embarrassing to accept help at first until I realized that it was truly their pleasure and their culture. (Now that a couple of my kids are looking more like adults than babies, I get it. You miss having those babies around.) I LOVE helping women with their babies. I do not claim to know any more than them, but sometimes it just takes someone who is “not mama” to distract them. And for the parents, this empathy means the absolute world. I rarely experience family friendly moments like this, even in the South. Asheville restaurants have turned away my very well dressed family, and even said comments like “we’re not that family friendly. You should try the pizza place down the street.” We went to Kiawah Island every summer for years, but after multiple experiences of being turned away after them seeing we have a toddler with us, I am done. It’s really sad because it’s not just the restaurants fault, it’s our culture that is allowing this to happen. If people were excited to see children in public, their restaurants would follow their lead. I would love to get back to traditional southern culture, where children and babies are welcomed members of society. Where it is not just OK to bring them out of the home, it is encouraged. I would love to get back to a culture of community.

When men were in charge, children were better cared for. With women in charge, we get castrations, gang rape, and teen euthanasia. There goes the myth of the "nurturing woman".

The dishwasher broke My wife said "good thing we have the home warranty" I said nothing I've been paying $62 a month for three years for this moment $2,232 for the peace of mind that when something breaks someone will come to the house and tell me it's not covered I called 47 minutes on hold They sent a technician Arrival window: Tuesday through Thursday between 8am and 5pm My analyst delivers faster than that And he still hasn't fixed the gridlines He showed up Wednesday at 4:47pm Looked at the dishwasher Opened the door Closed the door Touched something underneath Said "not covered" 90 seconds That's faster than my bank lets me prove I'm human I said "what's covered" He said "the motor" I said "what's wrong with it" He said "not the motor" I said "convenient" He said the service fee is $75 I paid a man $75 to open my dishwasher, close my dishwasher, and say two words My analyst could do that And he's not even that good I called the warranty company back 38 minutes on hold Requested the policy 129 pages I read all 129 pages Because that's what I do The coverage section is 34 pages The exclusions section is 58 The business model is right there In the margins Where nobody reads Except me Page 91 says "all mechanical and electrical components essential to appliance function are covered under standard service" Page 104 excludes control panels A control panel is an electrical component essential to appliance function Their own document contradicts itself 13 pages apart I highlighted both Sent them an email Subject line: "Plz fix. Thx." Attached both pages No other context Took them three days to send a technician Took them 4 hours to call me back when I found the loophole Funny how that works They covered the repair Waived the $75 And I canceled the warranty anyway Because a contract that contradicts itself isn't a contract It's a suggestion My wife said "so we're canceling" I said "we're canceling" She said "and the dishwasher" I said "fixed. They're covering it." She said "how" I said "I read the policy" She said "all 129 pages" I said "the exclusions section starts on page 47. The coverage section ends on page 34. There are 13 pages between them where they hoped nobody would look." She looked at me Then she said "you're unbelievable" I said "I just saved us $744 a year and got a free dishwasher repair. I'm not unbelievable. I'm thorough." She looked at the ceiling The dishwasher works now The warranty is canceled And the policy has been read By at least one person Probably the first Make common sense common again Plz fix. Thx. @brithume If Trump was treated like any other candidate if his campaign and elections were treated with respect and dignity I would agree. But he wasn't treated like other candidates. He was treated like a character out of a Kafka novel. Show me the man and Ill show you the crime.

Soldier Carries Little Girl Through Airport So Family Can Make Their Flight A mom was sprinting through Dallas Love Field Airport, toddler in arms, final boarding call echoing. She was going to miss her flight. In pure survival mode, she spotted a uniformed U.S. Army soldier nearby—a total stranger—and did what any desperate parent might: "I'm missing my flight. Run with me?"Without a second thought, he took the little girl in his arms and bolted alongside her through the terminal. Video shows him carrying the toddler like she's his own, weaving through crowds, making sure they reached the gate before it closed. They boarded. Safe. On time. The mom, Tia Lucia Walter, later shared: "It would be easy to call this random kindness. But some wear a uniform and carry a stranger's child." She hopes to thank him properly one day—he didn't ask for anything, just helped because he could. In a busy airport full of rushing people, one soldier stopped, stepped up, and reminded us that service isn't always on a battlefield. Sometimes it's running through a terminal with a scared toddler so a family makes it home.True story from Dallas, February 2026. Heroes come in uniform and quiet moments. Kurt Supe, CPA & Retirement Planner
Client was a VP at a large company. 62 years old. Was going to work until 65. January: called into HR. Severance package. Sign by Friday. He called me that afternoon. "I think I just got retired." No transition. No goodbye lunch. No plan. His whole identity was that job. His social life was those people. His purpose showed up every morning at 7:45am. The money was fine. We figured out the money in two meetings. The identity took a few years. He told me recently: "The hardest part wasn't losing the job. It was realizing I'd built my whole life inside someone else's building." Retirement that happens to you hits completely differently than retirement you choose. Millions of people in their 60s are navigating this right now and nobody is talking about it.
