Blessed are we who can laugh at ourselves for we never cease to be amused. Opinions are my own.

THIS HURRICANE IS TERRIFYING. As someone who grew up in Florida, I don't get shook by these storms a lot but this one I'm seriously scared for the west coast of Florida. If it turns towards Miami, I don't have a plan. This is quite literally the calm before the storm.

Ecomm friends who are hesitant to add discounts to their product bundles during BFCM… Let me crunch some numbers using a completely fictional scenario to show how you can still maintain healthy margins: Let’s say you run a cosmetic brand that sells foundations and concealers. The foundations are priced at $45 (costing $15 to produce), giving you a gross profit of $30 per foundation. Your concealers sell for $20 (with a production cost of $7), resulting in a gross profit of $13 per concealer. On average, you sell about 200 bottles of foundation and 50 tubes of concealer each week. That gives you a weekly gross profit of $6,000 for foundations and $650 for concealers. After noticing that customers often buy foundations and concealers together, you create a bundle. In this bundle, customers can buy both the foundation and concealer for $65 (the same total price as buying them separately but bundled for convenience). Now, let’s assume your weekly sales of 200 foundations remain the same (though, in a real Black Friday season, this number would likely increase—but we’re keeping it simple here). If customers start buying the bundle instead of purchasing the items separately, here’s what you’d be looking at: - $6,000 in gross profit for the foundation - $2,600 in gross profit for the concealer That’s a 300% increase in your gross profit from concealers by bundling products based on skin type. With this significant boost in gross profit, you can comfortably offer a $5-$10 discount on the bundle. Doing so will make the offer even more attractive, driving more conversions and increasing overall sales. See how the math starts mathing? Note: Obviously, it's not a scenario relevant to every brand, but this mindset can work for many. You're leaving money on the table by not bundling your products with a discount this BFCM.

@EmmettNaughton @StaatsMolly It's like the book, "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie." If I give them a shark, next thing you know they'll want a whale.

@SarahBondKSU @StaatsMolly There is never a dull moment around that office, I swear. I have never wanted to work in an office more and I HATE working in offices.

There's no betrayal quite like discovering your thirsty coworkers drank the bottle of wine your agency gifted you while you were out of the office. @SchwanMccarthy @StaatsMolly

Day 1 of wearing contacts in the books and it’s weird. Exactly what my trepidation was is what I’ve experienced - all day I’ve been hyper aware of foreign objects being in my eyeballs. 👀 It feels like trading one discomfort for another. And I look weird without my glasses 🤓

The App Collective newsletter episode is a little spicy today. Hope you like jalapeños...it's not quite habanero spicy but it's a step up from mild. You guys didn't think I could continue to eat vanilla week after week, did you?

What great @Shopify apps still have great partner programs? Most unfortunately have curbed a lot of referral incentives (s/o Shopify for INCREASING theirs 😋). Send your app store and partner program links. Going out to an active community of 3k+ service providers + merchants, so speak up ! cc @ShopifyDevs @liam_at_shopify
