Jersey did pass bills in 2026 trying to make large data centers cover their own upgrade costs but Vineland has its own municipal utility. Meaning residents are paying the upgrade costs

Hundreds of locals packed the meeting to scream “NO.” The county commissioners’ response? They walked out, refused public comment, hid in a side room, and voted YES anyway.
