6th Class were super excited to engage with the @SteamKids11 'Science in a Box' programme on Thursday. They were examining atoms, learning about protons, neutrons and electrons and investigating the periodic table of the elements. #STEM #ActiveLearning #STEAM

As part of #SpaceWeek, @TurloughDownes, Professor of astrophysics & mathematics at DCU & Director of @cfar_dcu, paid a visit to @StackallenNS talking about all things space to schoolchildren there! Apparently there were lots of questions! @DCUMaths @DCUFSH @SpaceWeekIRL

A special thank you to @TurloughDownes who visited our pupils to talk all things #SpaceWeekIrl. The pupils had a wonderful time discussing everything from black holes to planet formation with Turlough! #STEMeducation #SpaceTalks

Off to @StackallenNS tomorrow to talk about the solar system, and about black holes. Loved doing this last year, though I did need quiet time in my office afterwards to recover from all those great questions: kids keep you on your toes! #spaceweek @DCUFSH @DCUMaths @cfar_dcu
