Seattle is an affluent city, but more importantly would not be traditionally defined as a small market. It’s not LA, NY, DFW or CHI, but at 12-15 it’s bigger than Phoenix and certainly a larger market than a number of existing teams. Including OKC… but no one complains there.

@cougedit93 Market size is media market, which IS strongly correlated with population but in this case Seattle and Phoenix are roughly the same. So worry by Gil about whether there will be consumers here feels as misplaced as wondering whether there would be consumers in Phoenix

@DistGains1000 12-15 implies middle. The point is they are not a small market, but also small markets exist and should - and a small market just won the Finals.

@StacyRost Seattle would be a middle of the road media market. Grouped with places like Detroit/Minny. Add in COL/tax issues. They would just be another middling franchise trying to find advantages on the margins, through the draft. They are not and will never be a glamour market.
