The name “Huerter” carries a lot of weight not only in the Capital Region, but in college basketball. Starting with Tom - a Clifton Park native and four-year member of @SienaMBB - and going right down the line with his four kids, the Huerter’s are a family full of Division I players; most notably @KevinHuerter, who was a Maryland standout and is currently with the Detroit Pistons. But keep an eye out for the youngest member of the family, Jillian, who’s making quite the impact with @StagsWBball. Dropping team-best point totals in both the MAAC Tournament semifinal and championship games, Huerter was instrumental in the Stags capturing a 3rd straight conference title last week, which punched their ticket into March Madness! Tom Huerter has family bragging rights as the only member of the household to win an NCAA Tournament game (he and the Saints upset 3rd-seeded Stanford in ‘89), but Jillian now has some leverage as the only Huerter to make consecutive appearances in the big dance!
