Two years ago, in November 2022, I once again told the #IOTA Foundation team: a) #IOTA 2.0 wouldn't work, and b) L1 smart contracts would steer away from the original vision of the #Tangle DAG. They chose not to listen or believe me. It became clear that, after 3.5 years working in IF, it was time to move on. I left the #IOTA Foundation for ethical reasons. I left ISC (aka IOTA EVM) without regret—my job was done, and it was in good hands. After several more failures, #IOTA drastically pivoted and ended up becoming a #Sui fork. I wish them all the best in this completely new direction—enjoy IOTA EVM and MoveVM! Meanwhile, how were the past two years? Let’s recap: ✅ A new #Proxima concept was developed, built on a refined vision of the #Tangle, a transaction DAG. ✅A novel cooperative consensus was proposed—a Nakamoto consensus that doesn’t rely on PoW and operates among token-holders themselves, making it unique in the blockchain world. ✅The #Proxima node was implemented. Hard proof, not just words, was needed to demonstrate that a truly decentralized Tangle DAG consensus is possible! Without such proof, who would read yet another whitepaper among thousands? Designing the node’s massively parallelized architecture wasn’t easy, but it’s here now. ✅The public testnet has been running since September 2024 and is now on its second version. #Proxima fulfilled the dream of the #Tangle and the #coordicide, which #IOTA recently abandoned. It’s been a very successful two years, don’t you think? Some still shake their heads in disbelief: how could one person achieve in two years what 120+ people couldn’t in over 7 years? But the hard proof is here. Delving into the reasons isn’t our focus today. #Proxima has picked up the torch dropped by IF and is carrying forward the grand vision of the #Tangle! What’s next? The future is uncertain, but here’s the current status: - The concept, node, architecture, and testnet are working and all openly available. #Proxima is permissionless and open source. - The founder is ready for knowledge transfer and to support teams or individuals willing to push #Proxima to mainnet. - Join the vision! Love this. Awesome job. Lots of great ideas in here. I've been working on a tiny little radix explorer on the weekends (it's terrible and not pretty). Why? I want to see: ✔️ XRD rewards as a % of total XRD over time (also value) can't find this anywhere. radixstaker.com had a good chart but no longer working. ✔️ reward yield curve ✔️ list of my validators + fee's paid + confirm validator is operational (just moved assets from a dead validator) Nice community project. Please consider adding ^^ Will def support with $XRD 💚
