Everyone knows my disdain for the Essendon FC. It’s a healthy AFL rivalry & hatred that has festered in me for decades. However I no longer feel glee in their current predicament. They’re in all sorts & I’d rather a strong competitive Bombers along with Carlton. The AFL needs it

@Batman2242 This is the government that people have voted in. Just like the people who vote Labor e.g. govt workers, Union members, dole bludgers, welfare recipients. All they want is to keep getting votes and to keep their high paying jobs for doing nothing. This country is fucked.

@WayneReardon @theheraldsun I have no doubt it’s expensive and difficult to run a restaurant and I wouldn’t do it after seeing my mates run them, but don’t insult my intelligence by telling me ur making $1.50 profit on a $50 meal. And if you seriously are, then you shouldn’t be in business.

In the same part of Melbourne today, some are paying $221 to fill a 70L diesel tank. Others are paying $2.80 to charge a 70kWh battery. If the LNP hadn’t spent years frustrating the transition and failing to build the infrastructure, a lot more people would be paying $2.80.

@AlboMP That photo looks more like “Here you go dickheads, I’ve passed a law that will do nothing, so get off my back about petrol prices. “ How about reducing the tax on fuel so prices come down? Nah, can’t do that cause now ur making a squillion in taxes on the higher price. FO!

Our new laws to crack down on petrol price gouging have just passed Parliament. We're doubling penalties for companies doing the wrong thing. Because there's no excuse for increasing profits at the expense of Australians.

@WayneReardon @theheraldsun Mate if you’re only making $5 per meal I’d be closing the kitchen. And all the things ur calling out as expenses are tax deductible, but nobody factors the benefit of that when they’re telling you how much a plate costs to put on a table.

Not now, but before the lockdown days when people still drank alcohol, yes. That's why I'd always push staff to offer desserts after dinner, as we'd make up to $7 profit on a dessert. We make all our money through drinks. Any gross profit from meals was used up through wages, rent, bank fees, council fees, insurance, gas, electricity and a heap of other small costs. It's very expensive to run a hospitality business. Most of my customers are amazed when I tell them those commercial dinner plates that we use in pubs cost us $50 each. Someone breaks one of those and that's the gross profit gone from 10 meals. All the little things like pest control, cutlery, crockery, napkins, bread, condiments, fire protection, advertising/sponsorship, cleaning, repairs and replacement of kitchen appliances and restaurant furniture all add up too.

@SandraEckersley @stevemorwell He’s done shit. Just jumps on other peoples ideas. Looks at the polls for the idea, sees the most people likes them, then jumps on them to keep himself re-elected. Just another grifter politician.
