i loooove the headcanon that Big Mac and Applejack are twins :) I know AJ calls Big Mac her big brother sometimes, so I figure he's the firstborn, but i think it adds some validity to their banter over who gets to inherit Sweet Apple Acres when its more ambiguous with twin-ness

@Standreamy experienced as a kid. Pokemon 2000 is oddly weak and not fully formed. It is so much less than MSB or 3 and it's definitely the frailest of the trilogy.

The dub completely twisted the original message which was much more powerful and deeper than a "chosen one" story

@Fumbles15192371 @JacquesPaught I mean while it's not their worst censorship it can still be lamented about ahaha It's not Sonic level of censorship but nowadays most people still think of Ash as the character he is in the dub when in the original be very different.

@JacquesPaught @Standreamy You gotta realize the bar is low for late 90's early 2000's localizations, especially 4Kids ones. Compared to turning rice balls into sandwiches, making up headcannons about the characters, and straight up negating death, I'd say this is a pretty good change.

@Fumbles15192371 Eh, I don't really see "doing their own thing" as a positive thing ahahah The characters and themes were written for a reason. The entire message was something Shudo cared a lot about and there was no reason to change it

@Standreamy "The world would turn to Ash" was such a clever twist tho. Probably a good example of the dub going out of its way to do its own thing.
