Other intra-abdominal infectionswithout the isolation of Candida species, especially if the patient is doing poorly despite treatment for bacterial infx may benefit from empiric antifungal therapy. [SIS 2017, IDSA] ⚠️Note: Source control is often crucial to achieve eradication.

🔍 Empiric antifungal therapy can be added in the following circumstances: -Gastroduodenal perforations -Anastomotic leaks -Necrotizing pancreatitis

Question for #TxID #IDTwitter Does your center provide different abx surg ppx recs for kidneys coming from deceased vs living donors? Ex pip tazo for deceased vs cefazolin for living. Also, any difference in duration of abx ppx (eg 48 vs <24 hrs) @TransplantIDNet @StanfordASP
