It is terrorism. It meets the definition in section 1 of the Terrorism Act 2000. The rioters are radicalised terrorists. Encouraging it is a crime contrary to section 1 of the Terrorism Act 2006 Planning it is an offence contrary to section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006. What we see on our streets demonstrates that PREVENT was in fact a tool to demonise the Muslim community and not to safeguard against actual terrorist threats other than those that suited a political agenda.
