Two week “ceasefire”. In truth, we all knew it was coming. There are many things Trump is unpredictable with. He does enjoy his mind games and keeping the other side guessing. But yet over the past 8 months, every single threat and deadline has been followed by a last minute “I’ve decided to give it more time, so I’m giving it two weeks”. Every time. And though I get it from some perspectives, we just need to look at how Hezbollah have not only not disarmed, but they used the “ceasefire” to rearm and build up towards firing more missiles. Hamas used the ceasefires to build up. They’ve still not disarmed and they’re still running Gaza. But the most important question to ask is… what’s the aim of this ceasefire? Is the regime surrendering? NO Are the Iranian people free? NO Has the regime been removed? NO Are the proxies still alive and being terrorists? YES Did we get the uranium? NO Is the regime still a major threat? YES So whether anybody wants to acknowledge it or accept it, none of the original objectives have been achieved. None. Do I trust Trump? Truthfully, yes. But not blindly. And however much I may or may not trust him, I absolutely don’t trust the regime. And I truthfully believe, for many reasons I won’t share yet, that on this occasion, a ceasefire is a HUGE mistake. Huge. And in two weeks we will all see exactly why. The markets at least will stabilize. Now is a great time to buy. In 10-12 days we will have another post, and another threat, and another big statement, and then I believe there will be yet another delay and extension, this time mediated by either Oman or Turkey. And this will drag into May. The longer it continues, the more the regime will strengthen as they’ve now learned what works to apply the right pressure. The podcasters and propagandists will work overtime. And all the while the people of Iran continue to be oppressed with no respite in sight. I think sometimes we forget why this all started in the first place.
