in 1998, Pokemon released cards you could only get from a vending machine for 100 yen (about 70 cents), you'd get a single glossy sheet of 3 cards plus damage counters and coin tokens, all peelable like stickers they were called the Expansion Sheet series and fans nicknamed them "Vending Machine cards" after three series came out across 1998, blue, red and green, with 108 cards total some of these cards have winning entries from CoroCoro Comic's illustration contests on them, the same contest that produced the Pikachu Illustrator card the cards never released outside Japan and they're still printed on glossy stock that doesn't exist on any other Pokemon card
