@froggyhoppin content, you try to be funny and entertaining, etc. it can be discouraging to chat and commentate on stream when nobody is active in chat. I want to be entertaining first and foremost. And have fun. But having nobody to bounce off of makes it a bit hard to keep chatting. (2/2)

@froggyhoppin Some of us smaller creators don't feel bad about small numbers due to financial gain. If I get paid by Twitch, cool. That's extra gas money. But I don't care about /that/. It's really discouraging only seeing 2 or 3 people in your stream when you try so hard to advertise (1/2)

A lot of content creators need a harsh reality check.
Do not go into streaming expecting others to pay your bills, treating the community you’ve built like cash cows is probably why people hate you enough to not come back and why you’re struggling to grow as a creator. Basing how much money you earn on viewership is the stupidest shit I’ve heard- the biggest creators may be earning less than minimum wage.
Viewership =/ financial stability

VTubers and streamers, I know it is meant to be encouraging, but I keep seeing posts reminding people that 5 viewers is a lot - it's a full room! And they usually come from MUCH bigger streamers. But.. 5 people aren't going to pay rent for me. 5 people won't give me money for groceries. The encouragement is nice but I feel like it comes from a place of ignorance or even arrogance. For people trying to survive in today's economy, knowing "5 people is a full room" isn't going to make a difference. We might feel good.. but how much will that actually reflect on our lives? Just a reminder. Sometimes these encouraging posts read more as toxic positivity than useful advice.
