At 102kg, probably 20-25kg overweight, this was never going to fast or pretty. I came in with a pretty clear plan on pacing for all 3 disciplines and stuck to it pretty well - got a bit lazy in the last 4km of the run but it is what it is.

For every absolute animal like Jacob. There is an everyman. We obviously came into this event with very different preparations and goals. I'll be honest and say that I do get some pretty significant imposter syndrome in calling myself an Ironman, despite having every right to.
