This is insane.....in a good way. Can anyone do a map of Chicago neighborhoods & suburbs showing 18 clubs in and around Chicago using existing teams plus your proposed pro teams? Or for extra credit, how about w/logos & venues?!?!

We have 100 members, split over 4 teams: First, O30/40/48, & a new team playing Walking Soccer. We would NEVER be part of a professional league.

@THEChrisKessell We chose to play in @NSLChicago because they represented the top amateur competition in the Chicago area. It stellar reputation with respect to league management was also an important factor.

For those of you who own/manage amateur adult soccer teams that follow me. What was the process you used to choose the league you play in? I would love to hear more about this decision making process. Financial reasons? Quality of play? League management acumen? Reputation?

@NISA2Chicago @NSLChicago @ussoccer Yeah, I don't think PLS is what prevents amateur teams from going pro. I think it's amateur teams simply wanting to be amateur teams. I have never had a leader of an amateur club say to me, "If not for the pesky PLS, we'd be on the way to playing pro."

@StareBykiFC @NSLChicago @ussoccer Yes. I’m 100% sure. The PLS rules don’t allow it.

Imagine how many more communities and clubs could play professional soccer sanctioned by @ussoccer if their regulations weren't overly burdensome. Lots of nonprofit clubs in the Chicago area with decades of experience.

OTD 1983, @StareBykiFC played the first match in club history, a 1:1 draw. @ggorecki scores the first goal in Byki history from a set piece, the ball somehow finding its way into the back of the net. Congratulations to everyone in the Byki Universe for 37 years of great soccer!
