@StarfoxHylian @VGamingJunkie @GeorgeCrudo Reading on Google Gemini, it appears the low sales were because it was supposed to be an F-Zero anime tie-in, but the show bombed and so did the game. I doubt they even printed that many cartridges. The game was essentially cancelled, like Star Fox 2.

The series should have on-foot missions. Assault was absolutely the right direction for the series after 64. Part of why I think recent games have struggled is they're too afraid to take these awesome characters out of a cockpit.

Part of the reason F-Zero Climax failed was that it was released at the end of the GBA's life. It should have been made in 3D and released as a launch game for the DS. F-Zero Maximum Velocity sold over a million at launch, which is great for a 2.5D game. This brings me to another point. Games like Star Fox and F-Zero are the easy to make types of games Nintendo should use to pad-out a launch window. They should have sales lifetime targets of 1.5M, and their man reason for existence is to increase the initial launch attach rate and soften hardware launch costs. They should cost no more the $50 download or $60 physical. I think that's a good and sustainable future for these games.

Where did all these homophobic starfox fans even come from?? People ship their favorite characters all the time whether if it’s canon or not why are we making such a fuss over this?? Mind you we’ve seen Fox x Krystal/Wolf art for the past two decades?? I’m so confused 😭

@DBZYuYuYasha @GeorgeCrudo If any of Nintendo's franchises need to step outside of their vehicle, it's F-Zero. Nintendo has let the series mostly rot, when Captain Falcon has a ton of potential that you only ever get to see in Smash Bros.

@RGamerB_ Metroid Prime is a subseries of Metroid similar to how Yoshi and Mario Kart is to Mario. If Nintendo decides to shelve the Metroid Prime subseries, they'd still work on the main Metroid platformers.

With the Prime series likely shelved forever, and now the acclaimed Dread developer on the ropes, is the Metroid series dead? 👀

@derekbuckets True. If the games are good, people will follow, regardless. It's crazy Nintendo will make Star Fox again, but won't do the same with F-Zero. Get some exposure on that. Please. Idk. I'd love an "original" anything. Tired of reboots and remakes.

totally hear you, but most people have never played a star fox game, and this is the perfect way to introduce them to the series and (hopefully) pave the way for new games

@friedPeeP Basically, the best selling Star Fox game outsold the best selling Metroid game. But, the worst selling Metroid game outsold the worst selling Star Fox game.
