The Thomas Massie situation ended up creating a strange coalition. Ro Khanna, progressive activists, anti-Trump Republicans, and media figures who normally oppose the America First movement all rallied behind him at the same time. At the same time, Trump-backed candidates went undefeated on May 19th and continued to perform strongly with Republican voters.
