Arrived home, set up everything to work, and I find out my tablet got damaged during transport 🥲 It is still functional but I'm so bummed out about this, I have yet to check the state of the main pc I use to work since I'm worried it is damaged too

@dtnols Recognizing that rehoming/surrendering him to the shelter is the best option in this scenario just proves you're a great and responsible owner, it's a very hard choice to make and not many people think of doing that even if they are clearly neglecting their pets :( sending a hug

how do I ease my guilt of planning to surrender my cat back to the shelter?

(1/2) thinking of surrendering domino (my cat) back to the shelter…i feel like im not giving him the life he deserves and he has behavioral issues such as chewing on and eating plastics/clothes and constantly peeing on furniture. we took him to the vet and everything is good

@loohhooo @xxdarkcandyxx Learning to regulate em is definitely a struggle but it's so worth it to start slowly working on healthy ways to self regulate

I get the point you're making, but biggest thing I learned in DBT was to not judge my strong emotions as overreacting or not normal (implies they are bad), cus this contributes to shame which BPD havers struggle with. it's not the emotion itself that's an issue, or even the size of it that's the issue, it's how you act on that emotion. as I saw you say elsewhere, validating emotions is very important and to me that includes accepting big disproportinate emotions can happen but we can learn to regulate through them without using judgmental language.

bpd havers do you ever forget that the intensity of your emotions isn't normal and that you are in fact overreacting to other people
