In 1965, Lagos witnessed what was described as a “unique marriage.” 73-year-old N. A. Sholade married 63-year-old Loretta Braithwaite at the Holy Cross Cathedral Lagos before over 300 guests. The ceremony, officiated by Reverend Father M. Castello, saw Loretta, widowed for about three decades, given away by businessman Mobolaji Bank-Anthony.
