Protect yourself from tick bites as ticks are active from early spring through late fall. A fatal case of ehrlichiosis, an illness caused by bacteria from tick bites, in Floyd County has been reported this month. Preventing tick bites is the best way to prevent these diseases.

Two doses of MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine are 97% effective at preventing measles. Consult with your healthcare provider if you are unsure of your vaccination status.

Five additional cases of measles have been confirmed in Indiana, bringing the total to six in 2025. The newly reported cases are three minors (unvaccinated) & two adults (vaccination status unclear) in Allen County. All six cases are connected. More info: bit.ly/3Eh4Whc
