The Legislative Asian Caucus was founded this session to ensure our communities are seen; and we will continue fighting for a Wisconsin where every person can live with dignity, safety, and belonging!

Today, I was proud to stand with Representative Renuka Mayadev, Representative Angelito Tenorio, and community members at the State Capitol to recognize Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month in an observance that was both a celebration and call to action.

I had so much fun at Sherman Middle School yesterday for their celebration of Asian American Heritage Month. Thank you so much for having me!

MMSD hosted a groundbreaking to kick off the facilities work on Sherman Middle and Malcolm Shabazz City High schools today. I was honored to attend and I’m so excited for the next generation of Wisconsin’s kids to learn in a brand new, innovative environment!

Antisemitism and Islamophobia continue to rise, and I’ve heard from hundreds of constituents that laws like this will not make anyone safer.

I am disappointed that Gov. Evers has signed into law a controversial definition of antisemitism that will compromise free speech across the state and academic freedom at our universities. AB446/SB445 will likely make criticism of the state of Israel a discriminatory offense.

You have to see it to believe it. Legislative Republicans think playing politics with which bills get a hearing only hurts Democrats. What they don’t get is that it hurts the communities they represent and ignores the wellbeing of all Wisconsinites.

In Wisconsin, Legislative Republicans control which bills get publicly debated and which get set aside. This means that hundreds of ideas, from lowering costs to improving schools, are never even given a chance to be heard, let alone voted on.

On today’s installment of “You Call This Democracy?” This session, Democrats in both the Senate and Assembly introduced 878 bills as lead authors. Only 28 of those bills recieved a public hearing. (LRB)
