I had a dream where I was drinking last night. It was so real. I've seen others on here talk about it but have never had one myself. Woke up in a panic followed by a wave of relief. Now left feeling strangely unsettled and anxious. #RecoveryPosse
@_withoutalcohol Talk to yourself like you would your best friend. We're always kinder to others than to ourselves. Whenever you think those negative thoughts think, would I say this to someone I love? *from someone who finds it hard to practise what she preaches. I know its hard. Much love xx
@se_ransdell The fact that we even have to say not all men is part of the problem. I cant imagine feeling defensive reading about insane behaviour from people of my gender.
I 100% understand “not all men” but do y’all understand:
My banking coworker who bought me lingerie for Christmas after one date.
The guy who admitted to stalking me for a year on our first date.
The guy I didn’t know who saw me in the hall at school and decided to feel me up…
@Stayingsober3 This has made me realize just what my sister did for me for so many years. I used to drink beer, not alot, but I did enjoy a cold 1 or 2. Or 3😉. Sis had 45 yrs sober. Never once was I at her home when there wasn't a cold beer there for me. She died late last year, still sober.
I'm having friends from abroad stay with me for a week from Friday. My flat has been my alcohol free sanctuary. Is it OK to ask them not to drink in my house? #RecoveryPosse
@Stayingsober3 Absolutely. And if they go out to drink you can set a boundary that they don’t come back to your place loaded. Protect and honor your sobriety!
@afewtoomany3 Well the other advantage of that will be making sure they don't bring wine with them. Which is something that is just now occurring to me as a possibility (I mean as a thank you gift, not for any nefarious reason)
