Virtually no one knows what their kWh rate is. Except for one friend who's worked for the power company, I don't personally know anyone who knows. Every time I ask people, I get 🤷‍♂️. It's part of why people are hesitant to go EV. What's a kWh? No one knows. ⚡🔋🔌

Picked up my new Tesla Model Y today and the FSD ride home was the most surreal experience of my life. Went from delivery to parking spot without touching the wheel or pedals once.

@elonmusk Using FSD on a trip is so much safer and less stressful than me driving. Several times on my last 400 mile trip I would have made the wrong turn on interchange exits, roadway splits, or traffic circles and the car took me the right way!

@WilliamShatner 500 Miles of range for a drive? At our ages, the most we can do between having to get out and stretch our legs so we're not completely cramped up, and need to stop to pee might be about 250 miles!

@SawyerMerritt It would be easy to display one letter for Drive, Neutral, Reverse or Park on the screen as well as other items like range with destination and ETA data in a small area of the screen.

NEWS: The NHTSA is proposing a rule change to update U.S. vehicle safety standards for fully autonomous vehicles. The proposal would modify Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 102 so that fully autonomous vehicles without steering wheels or pedals would no longer be required to display gear positions (Park, Drive, Reverse, etc.). NHTSA says the requirement is no longer relevant in cars with no manual controls. This change would only apply to fully driverless vehicles and would not impact traditional cars.

Rumor: Tesla is going to build its own EUV lithography machines because ASML is “too slow.” to supply to the new chip plant. ASML currently produces <100 EUV machines per year. The new plan: • 1,000 EUV machines per week starting 2027 • 10,000 per week by 2028 And since HBM memory is also a bottleneck, Tesla will casually build 10 new memory fabs in the next two years producing 5× the rest of the industry combined.
