VIX Decomposition - 3/26/26 - Most of the $VIX move was the standard reaction to the $SPX sell off - Vol was marked higher across strikes.. a broad repricing up in the overall level - Put skew actually eased a bit.. 25–40Δ puts were not where the extra pressure showed up - Tail risk didn’t really reprice either.. 5–10Δ puts were basically unchanged on a relative basis - Upside held up a bit better relatively but not enough to be the story This was mostly a plain level up day driven by the SPX drop and a broad vol bid.. not a big skew or tail event
