“Łatwogang”, whose real name is Piotr Garkowski, is a Polish TikToker, YouTuber, and influencer, previously known among other things for the song he recorded with Ed Sheeran titled Azizam. Starting on April 17, 2026, he livestreamed for 9 days while listening to the song by Polish rapper Bedoes featuring Maja Mecan (a beneficiary of the Cancer Fighters Foundation), titled "I’m Still Here (Diss Track Against Cancer)", to encourage people to donate to the foundation.
Cancer Fighters Foundation is a nationwide Polish charity established in 2015 by Marek Kopyść, supporting children, teenagers, and adults battling cancer. It is an organization aimed at motivating its beneficiaries and their families to fight the disease through financial and psychological support, including reimbursement for medications and the purchase of medical equipment.
Initially, Łatwogang expected to raise 500,000 PLN (around 138,000 USD), but reality far exceeded his expectations. The fundraiser broke two Guinness World Records, surpassing among others MrBeast, and collected a record-breaking total of 257 million PLN (71 million USD). Polish artists from the worlds of music and film took part in the campaign, as well as athletes such as Robert Lewandowski, cosmetic companies, jewelry brands, banks, publishing houses, and many more.
Although the charity livestream won over the internet and the hearts of viewers around the world, it leaves a bittersweet aftertaste of victory. The question remains: why do celebrities and such major institutions not engage in similar actions more often? Was everyone truly motivated by helping children, or was it simply an easy PR opportunity? Either way, Piotr Garkowski’s initiative will be remembered for a long time, and hopefully it will be only the beginning of such inspiring charitable actions.
