The President of the United States, the Vice President and the Secretary of Defense claimed, without evidence, that this accomplished warrior was only in the pilot’s seat because of “DEI”. She was in the top 20% of cadets nationwide—and it’s pathetic and disgusting that her family had to issue this statement to the country to justify her seat even in her death because the leaders she served under blamed her for the accident in front of the White House press corps within 12 hours of the crash on baseless speculation that she was unqualified because she was a woman. If you’re an American—or even if you’re just a decent person—this should make you burn.

Despicable. As families grieve, Trump should be leading, not lying. We put safety first, drove down close calls, grew Air Traffic Control, and had zero commercial airline crash fatalities out of millions of flights on our watch. President Trump now oversees the military and the FAA. One of his first acts was to fire and suspend some of the key personnel who helped keep our skies safe. Time for the President to show actual leadership and explain what he will do to prevent this from happening again.

Our hearts break for the families who lost loved ones in the tragic plane and helicopter crash at DCA. Michelle and I send our prayers and condolences to everyone who is mourning today, and we’re grateful to the first responders who are doing everything they can to help under extremely difficult circumstances.
