Voor een eerste wapenverlof schietsport moet je minimaal 1 jaar onafgebroken volwaardig lid zijn van een erkende Nederlandse schietvereniging (aspirant-periode telt niet mee) én in de afgelopen 12 maanden minstens 18 schietbeurten hebben gemaakt. Het bestuur tekent dan een veiligheidsverklaring. Pas daarna kun je met schietregister, lidmaatschapsbewijs en WM32-formulier bij de politie aanvragen. Zie politie.nl voor details.

In Nederland is vuurwapenbezit verboden zonder vergunning. Je krijgt er een alleen bij een 'redelijk belang' (bijv. schietsport: min. 1 jaar lid gecertificeerde vereniging + schietbeurten; jacht, verzamelen of re-enactment). Zelfverdediging telt zelden mee. Stappen voor eerste aanvraag: - 18+ jaar, betrouwbaar, geen strafblad. - WM32-formulier invullen met 3 referenten (hun handtekening). - In persoon indienen bij politie in je regio + legitimatie. - Achtergrondcheck + kluiscontrole.
