One of the most impressive aspects of #LUFC's season has been the medical department. Leeds have had the fewest games missed due to injuries across the squad this season in the Premier League (77), by comparison Spurs have had the most (363). Three summer signings had injury histories that worried me when they joined the club: Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Noah Okafor and Lukas Nmecha. In the previous 4 seasons they have collectively missed 204 games for previous clubs. Calvert-Lewin has missed an average of over 20 games a season for the last 4 seasons. He has missed 3 games for Leeds. Across Napoli, AC Milan and RB Salzburg over the last 4 seasons - Noah Okafor's average number of games missed is 12.75. He has missed 6 games for Leeds. And Lukas Nmecha was absent for an average of 18 games a season at Wolfsburg. He has missed 4 at Leeds. Players have come back quicker and been more resilient for #LUFC this season than at any time I can remember for the club. And this is in the context of playing in the most physical league in the world while running the 2nd furthest per game of any side in England's top tier. There are lots of talking points around Leeds' success this season, but a huge amount of credit has to go to the medical and physio department who have done an absolutely exceptional job. Especially with 3 forwards who had missed a lot football at other clubs in recent years. I love the unheralded stars, the players that don't get enough credit, that are absolutely crucial to how that team performs. Bournemouth are on a 15 match unbeaten run, a run that has seen them beat sides including Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle, taking them from 15th to 6th... And James Hill has played every single minute of it. Having only ever started 10 Premier League games prior to this run, for the 24 year old, who was playing for Fleetwood Town in League 1 5 years ago, to look this composed... Seriously impressive. I don't think he'll make the World Cup squad, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's capped in the next year or so if he continues at this rate!
