@SaudiEmbassyUK can you please advise UK nationals in KSA how to notify UKG of their presence? There is currently no mechanism by which to do so, unlike in other Middle Eastern regions.

I am grateful to government officials who have been in touch. My husband is still seeking shelter underground as air raid sirens and further blasts are going off. Terrifying.

This number isn’t working, is there another way to urgently make contact? My husband’s hotel the Fairmont on the Palm has been hit and he is taking cover in an underground car park. Advice needs to be updated in this context please, urgently

Budget “balances ex ante” but is “unlikely to unfold as presented.” Treasury support masks deeper fiscal strain as the Executive faces hard choices. A risk that no Budget is agreed before the new financial year. Full report: nifiscalcouncil.org/publications/f…

@williamcrawley There is an ongoing tension and associated need to find balance between supporting/driving innovation and proportionate regulation. Within public opinion there is support for increased use of AI, but it is relatively soft. By comparison, concerns are more strongly expressed.

For those who doubted what’s ahead of us. Generative AI, and the emergence of super-intelligence which may follow it, is already the most important transformation of our world in the history of our species. It’s not just a new technology, it’s potentially a new kind of reality.

The poll was commissioned from @LucidTalk, and was conducted in November. We are keen to inform a vibrant debate on the safe and ethical adoption of AI in NI.

Time to evolve from consociational government in Northern Ireland? “The discussions highlighted the contradictions between — on the one hand — the rigidities of a system designed to address conflicts spurred by binary political, religious, and cultural identities and — on the other hand — the increasing fluidity and multifaceted nature of identity in 21st century Northern Ireland.” Read our article by Merrill MEADOW 👉 sharedfuture.news/time-to-evolve… @QUBSchoolofLaw @tandfnewsroom @T_Agarin @CathalPMc @sophieawhiting @DrDrewMikhael @SadiyaAkram @fidelmaashe1 @cjhumanrights @StephenFarryUU #SharedFuture #NorthernIreland #politics #government #powersharing
