@FraserNelson @maitlis Why dont they just use their mosque(s) and invite people in to join or hire an arena?

Bishop of Willesden on the Iftar : "The public iftar in Trafalgar Square was not an act of cultural imposition, nor a signal of division. It was, rather, a moment of hospitality: an invitation to share in the breaking of the fast during Ramadan, extended by one community to the wider public. It was open, generous and peaceful. It reflected something profoundly British; the instinct to gather, to mark significant moments together, and to make space in our common life for the traditions that shape our neighbours.
"To suggest that such an event is somehow threatening risks misunderstanding both the nature of religious expression and the character of our national life. Religious freedom in this country has never meant the privatisation of belief. It has meant the opposite: the right of individuals and communities to live out their faith openly, visibly and without fear. That principle applies as much to Muslims observing Ramadan as it does to Christians celebrating Easter, Jews marking Passover, Hindus celebrating Diwali, or Sikhs observing Vaisakhi." churchofengland.org/media/news-and…

So far, Christian leaders have been absent from a debate, led by politicians, about the place of faith in public life. So good to see the Bishop of Kirkstall give his perspective.

Thank you everyone for the messages. Please don't worry - I have excellent security.
I will continue to speak my mind, encourage civil debate and argue for a sensible, pragmatic, reasonable approach to politics.

Migrant rape gangs preyed on young girls in England. People complained online → sent to prison.
That’s why Keir Starmer wants to ban X.

@nobleisawinner Weights used in a mechanical clock. Usually at each end of a chain. You pull one down but the higher one effectivley tries to balance out the lower one & in moving down keeps the clock (or its spring) wound.
The spring tension is released & the hands turn.

@HenryFrank02 Sorry to burst your bubble - but I have done all of them.
(You only needed to be born in the 60's or 70's to do this).

@BritishBastardX @RupertLowe10 @Harry_pitt It could all be a distraction - We've been invaded by stealth (via The Channel) for years. Already about 30,000 fit, fighting men have their boots on U.K. soil.
English

@RupertLowe10 @Harry_pitt Not a single British man or woman should die in the middle east.
We have a home to protect that we have abandoned for so long, we are running out of time and our focus must be here!

@CllrRayner @RupertLowe10 @ShaunDowne81810 Well... at least your Free Speech wasn't completely/censored/redacted.

Our military numbers have declined because people just don’t know what they are protecting anymore. Country? Left wing Government? Foreigners?
The DEI and LGBT rubbish puts people off, the latest being a survey asking sokdiers if they want to wear make up ???
If anything we are going to need our boots on the ground in the UK if we can overthrow our government.
Our government is already on to us even on X @elonmusk @RupertLowe10

@ZiaYusufUK Ref your “PS: They’re coming from France, by definition not fleeing war”:
This is the whole point. Assuming they are genuine ASYLUM seekers, they coming to the UK from an already SAFE country eg France etc.
Why? Because we're soft & a money pit of freebies.
English

@ZiaYusufUK I'm British - born & lived here all my life. Give me £40k and I'll leave of my own free will!
Perhaps, Enoch Powell was right decades ago; "Give them £1000 and send them back home”...?
We might have found we were better off now.
