I really need people to stop pretending to like Cole Young or think he’s a good character. I’m seeing way too much of it after the movie came out. Feeling bad for the actor not getting a fair chance in the franchise is different than saying the character was was good. The two are separate. The first is very valid and I also share. I want Lewis Tan back and he clearly wants to be Kenshi. I think that’s great. He’s genuinely a great martial artist and would work so well in Mortal Kombat with his talents but they have to be put to good use. Having him return as Kenshi and forgetting he was ever Cole Young would be a better and I know 99% of MK fans would be just fine with it. Frankly, all this “Actually Cole Young was a good character they did him dirty bring Cole back” are crocodile tears. None of you actually like or think he’s a good character. None of you did when the first one came out. Stop pretending to think otherwise. His character was a major part of why the first movie sucked and goes against the essence of the franchise. No one wants to watch a MK movie focused on a character that doesn’t exist in the games. They want it focused on characters we know and love.

All of this. Lewis Tan deserves his flowers.

@ouiouicwoissan Tan has worked so hard and let himself play second banana to make others look good for so much of his career, even though he’s usually the most talented martial artist in the scene, or even the whole movie/show. He’s taken scraps and DEVOURED them. He deserved to remain the lead

mk2 spoilers . . . i highkey just feel bad for lewis tan whenever i see ppl shit on cole young because whether or not he’s manifesting himself as kenshi, cole young was still his first major protagonist role. it’s gotta suck to see a character you worked hard on be hated so much

Cole Young has approximately 50 minutes of screen time in Mortal Kombat 1. In Mortal Kombat 2 he has 3 minutes of screen time.

@DiscussingFilm This actually made me start bawling uncontrollably. It took me by surprise. It just really hit home how mentally unwell and cursed Frank is. I’ve never really been a Punisher fan but Bernthal really has elevated the character. Looks phenomenal. Cinema.
