We’ve fought for more than a decade to bring back 8th grade algebra for kids who are ready & interested. We’re finally on the verge, but the school district’s new proposal creates a significant barrier — requiring kids who want to take algebra in 8th grade to also take regular 8th grade math. Kids shouldn’t be required to take two math classes, which will simply force them to give up an elective. The district should avoid this barrier & let 8th graders choose to take algebra as their sole math class.

They finally came for Cesar Chavez. However, I am surprised by two things. It was long known that he used slurs against illegal immigrants. Why wasn't he cancelled for that? Furthermore, why did Dolores Huerta come forward now, after all these years, with these allegations?

A 50-City US survey of pedestrian fatalities shows an avg of 15.6 per 100k residents. San Francisco’s is 3 per 100k. Thats 80% less than average! We have an exemplary safety record. We are platforming hysterics who exaggerate the scale of one issue and distract us from reality.

There is concern about heat in California this early, but this is not unprecedented. In March 2005, San Francisco reached 87°F in winter. This ended up being the hottest temperature recorded in SF that year. CA climate is extremely complicated and far from being understood.
