The beauty of Thiago’s passing technique where so much of the passing action comes from his hip rotating whilst facing in another direction and deceiving his opponents, came at a cost to the health of his hip joint. The talent he was blessed with and his Brazilian & Spanish backgrounds resulted in a footballer who both had the flair/imagination of a Brazilian technician innovating with all kinds of different passes and of course the famous Thiago turn as well as having the metronomic passing efficiency/vision of a top Spanish midfielder, piercing the tightest gaps to break through multiple opposition defensive lines. His La Masia education engrained him with the knowledge to control any football match. The Brazilian heritage in him also meant he never shied away from putting his foot in and doing the dirty work in midfield as he even held down a DM spot in Bayern’s sextuple winning campaign.
