@_HANAID Hi so some of the comments are hateful and shouldn't be made by the initial pushback was because she was and is making false claims on the technology and what she has achieved. That deserves calling out because how do we as an ecosystem move forward if we allow charlatans.

Hate all you want but at least she has the traction for the idea. Version 1 is out... She can iterate and get better over time Anyways, who said the first version has to be perfect?

Last week I was a jew. This week I read self help books and 48 laws of power. Last month I grew up in a white neighborhood. month before that I was a rich privileged artist. I wish you guys stuck to one story about my life at least 😅
quackyduckke@StephenR96828

😭 look now you've given the "48 laws of power" people ammunition against fiction readers. Read whatever genre at your pace. Read 10 books a year or 30 or 100. Just don't read self help books. Robin Sharma and the two dad guy deserve poverty and irrelevance

Pope Leo just condemned the idea that "work dignifies man". We. Are. So. Back!

"We must, then, avoid the 'Babel syndrome,' namely the idolatry of profit that sacrifices the weak, a uniformity that neutralizes differences, and the pretense that a single language — even a digital one — can translate everything, including the mystery of the person, into data and performance."

Humanity, created by God in all its grandeur, is today facing a pivotal choice: either to construct a new Tower of Babel or to build the city in which God and humanity dwell together. In Jesus Christ, this humanity in its grandeur becomes the Way, the Truth and the Life, opening the path for each of us to grow toward fullness. #MagnificaHumanitas vatican.va/content/leo-xi…

People ask why I read so much. Honestly? Because the world moves fast and loud, and I need somewhere quiet to remember what actually matters. Books slow everything down. They make you sit with one thought long enough to really feel it.

Ohh so you guys skip through books. That's how people get 200+ books read a year. Fiction books fonts big asf already so this makes sense now that y'all need an allegory to understand racism lol

I will always say Roger from American Dad is the greatest character ever made on tv. Always. From likability to the lengths of creativity writers can get to and he’ll still be interesting.

@Kirembu Open discourse only works if the target is receptive. She isn't, so at this point this is just harassment. She's young and trying to find her way. Let's give her grace and not make her cry.

@StephenR96828 Agree the results were disappointing, but this open discourse is useful. Critical reproductions add value when aimed at improving research and science. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I went down a deep rabbit hole trying to reproduce the "Spiral Kernels" (SKCNN) paper that was being discussed. As a complete non-expert in ML (just a curious person), I wanted to see if the claims held up. Here’s what I found after multiple attempts 👇

@_celestino127 Stark truth the jobs aren't there. Startups are few and most are in the VC race for funding instead of building actual products. People go to consulting because that's what's hiring and paying a minimum wage.

The smartest Kenyans I know, High IQ folks, are going into consulting, academia and insurance... Yet we need more high IQ Kenyans into AI startups, the future is in AI(software + hardware)

@moonbeamsmaria Yeah I read an article somewhere that most booktok authors are writing for movie adaptations or tv. They're no longer writing for their stories to be books. They just want to go viral and then get a movie deal.

@Kirembu Btw good work on the notebook. I actually have her model 😂 vituko central. Your hypothesis about the accuracy being low is correct. It does trigger over random sounds and labels it as a bomb or ak47 when it's just a video of a Glock. Would write an article but that would be mean

@StephenR96828 Yep, fair point. Reinventing (or independently rediscovering) ideas happens all the time in research. The parametric spiral kernel is still a nice touch. For Science! 🚀

No evidence of direct plagiarism — the spiral concept seems original (though related ideas exist in other domains). It feels more like enthusiastic overclaiming by a young researcher than anything malicious.

The biggest threat AI poses to cybersecurity isn't the vulnerability apocalypse. It's that it’s now trivially cheap for security vendors to build products that look like they work but don’t. The real threat actors are the unethical vendors we met along the way.
