Walton County Sheriff's Office, Florida
Time to Geaux! A group of spring breakers was evicted first thing this morning from a home in a private community in Miramar Beach. Most attend LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Just before 3 a.m., a security guard called to report what looked like someone throwing glass bottles from a balcony on Wadleigh Way. One nearly hit him as he was making rounds doing security checks. When @WCSOFL deputies arrived, they immediately noticed the roadway and driveway were covered with broken glass and empty alcoholic beverages. A 19-year-old was arrested after deputies called everyone out of the home who admitted to throwing the bottles from the balcony. Taking one for his Tiger team. No one inside was 21. The adult who rented the home was the mother of one of the teens staying at the house. Over the past several years, the Walton County Sheriff's Office has been working with property management companies to identify individuals in rentals who turn into problem houses during Spring Break. Whether it be by destroying property, house parties, noise complaints, and so on. The property management companies can then make a decision to evict. In this case, they did. Let this be a friendly reminder: Hold That Tiger.

Growing up, life was hard. I remember eating pintos and mac & cheese for an entire summer. There wasn’t money for anything else. I can’t even smell Kraft mac & cheese without gagging all these years later. Christmases with no gifts started for me at 11 years old. Witnessing drunken fights that sent me seeking safety among the dust mites under the bed? I was 9. The memories floating around in my head aren’t just bad—they’re crippling. But every cloud has a silver lining. I didn’t know what mine was until Kodecker arrived when I was 14. That tiny little girl changed everything. I no longer thought, “How do I survive this?” I started thinking, “How do I protect her?” Strength flooded in. I became the wall between her and everything else. I lost some battles. I won others. But I have zero regrets. Not about her. Every single battle was worth it. And my sorta-young’un? She’s perfect. ❤️

@BoCamaro One of the worst things this guy did amongst many, he had his hand on the outer casing of the metal control panel. He was grounded. So as soon as he touched anything energized his heart was in direct path. Even at lower voltages..he chose poorly.

I teach maintenance personnel on arch flash safety for events like this. This is how fast you can lose your life. This person just lost their life and left a wake of misery and hurt for everyone they knew because they didn't take the time to follow basic safety protocol. If you are in the industry and think you will somehow dodge the explosion, or somehow won't be injured because you are "strong", watch this and pay attention. This person was just hit with molten copper and plasma that was 4x hotter than the sun... they were immediately blinded, probably put deaf, and even if they somehow survive, they will be forever be disfigured and handicapped. Guys, wear your gear. It's uncomfortable. I know. But it's important. More than you can imagine. We are paid well because we risk pur lives every time we enter a cabinet, but no one is paid well enough to die on the job. No one. Be smart. Have a great Sunday.

Update on our daughter Braelyn (18) and her brain tumor surgery today After 6.5+ hours in surgery, we finally spoke with neurosurgeon Dr. Linda Liau. The surgery was extremely complex, but we are grateful and hopeful. Here’s what happened today 🧵

.@SECWAR “In the Indian Ocean—an American submarine sunk an Iranian warship, that thought it was safe in international waters. Instead, it was sunk by a torpedo—Quiet Death. The first sinking of an enemy ship by a torpedo since World War 2. Like in that war—back when we were still the War Department—we are fighting to win."
