GEOFF DUGGAN, Head Tennis Coach at Fulton High School, passed away on Wednesday Morning at his home. Geoff was one of the best friends I could ever ask for since I began my teaching career back in the mid 1980’s. We remained best friends for 40 years Geoff touched thousands of lives during his career as a teacher and tennis coach in Knox County. Geoff loved his family, loved teaching in the classroom and loved coaching the game of tennis. He taught Social Studies for almost 40 years, mainly at Bearden Middle School and initially at South Middle School. Geoff was the Head Tennis Coach at Bearden High School, L&N Stem Academy and Fulton High School. He coached State Champions, including current Tennessee Mens Coach Chris Wooduff. After retiring from teaching, Geoff continued to be a substitute teacher at multiple schools, mainly at Fulton High School. Geoff quickly came to love the students and staff at Fulton. Geoff Duggan will be missed by everyone that ever knew him, but his legacy and the positive impact he had on thousands of students, athletes, co-workers, friends, and his amazing family will never be forgotten.

The man I’ve called Daddy, died. Dr. John M. Perkins died this morning, March 13, 2026, surrounded at home by his wife and family. To the world, he was Dr. John M. Perkins, a voice for justice, reconciliation, and the gospel of Jesus Christ. He received 19 honorary doctorate degrees, but most importantly, he was the devoted husband of his bride, Vera Mae Perkins, for 74 years, and together they were blessed with 8 children. But to me, he was Daddy. My heart is broken, yet full of gratitude for the gift of being his daughter. His life was marked by courage, humility, faith, and love. He poured himself out for God, for people, and for the work of reconciliation. Please keep our family in your prayers as we grieve, honor, and celebrate his extraordinary life and legacy. Daddy, thank you. We love you, and we will carry your legacy forward. V. Elizabeth Perkins

Left the walls of EA to serve and explore! Some of our upper school scholars traveled to Blount County to check out Maryville College and serve at Second Harvest Food Bank. The field trip gave scholars the opportunity to dream about their future collegiate paths, while also serving their community! #TheEAWay
